The Clean Chronicles

Using a squeegee for cleaning the inside of your windows means tidying up your technique to avoid puddles and drips from accumulating on your sills and floors as you clean. Although you probably won’t need to wash your windows more than a few times a year (if that), you can still put your squeegee to work; use it as part of your bathroom-cleaning tools to clean a glass shower door. Let the pants soak for six hours, then wash in the machine with more OxiClean White Revive, filled up to the scoop’s second line. Rinse with water until it runs clear, then wash with regular detergent and air dry. Rinse and let them air dry before re-lacing your shoes. Rinse the area with a fully powered hose. There have been important advances in this area in the last five or 10 years. Apply the cloth to the sticker, and gently rub the area until the sticker begins to lift and the glue dissolves. Believe it or not, stickers and labels stuck with an adhesive to your window glass can be removed – and without a trace of glue residue. Finally, friction burns are actually a combination of abrasion and a heat burn, and they can leave skin feeling especially raw.

Lime and calcium streaks can leave your tub looking dull and chalky. Regular cleaning every one to two weeks with a vinegar and water solution can help prevent the buildup of lime and calcium. Mix ½ gallon of clean water with 2 cups of malt vinegar, and spray the solution on crumpled newspaper. Dip the scrubber in the soapy water and squeeze out any excess suds. Or, soak a towel in a bowl of your mixture and use the wet towel as a scrubber. Spray your cleanser on the walls of the tub, fixtures and shower walls and scrub down with a damp rag or paper towel. Clean off these hard water deposits in a few simple steps to keep your fixtures looking shiny and new – and give your old bathroom an instant upgrade. To clean lime and calcium deposits from your tub, you can use a commercial lime remover or a homemade mixture of white vinegar and water. You can rely on distilled white vinegar (or lemon juice) and warm water – mix them together in equal parts – to not only leave windows streak-free, but also break down any residue or grease on the surface of the window.

Reach for a clean microfiber cloth or reuse a soft, often-washed T-shirt, clean cloth diaper or chamois; a piece of crumpled, black-and-white newspaper or a clean paper coffee filter will also dry and buff your window glass to a streak-free finish. A one-to-one ratio of vinegar to water also makes glass sparkle and can be used in place of a soapy cleanser (although it probably won’t smell as good). And it can use things like specifications, which can sometimes help encapsulate query logic as well as result type mapping. This gives you all the power you need in a pool cleaner, as well as admirable maneuverability, even with more complex swimming pools. Thanks to green hyacinth and mandarin leaves, this fragrance smells so natural that you’ll forget you’re even wearing it. Some dogs are sensitive to the additives and natural minerals in tap water.

To continue enjoying fresh, filtered water from your refrigerator, occasionally give the water dispenser a good cleaning. Also use homemade glass cleaner to make your own glass cleaning wipes, good for touch-ups: Combine half a cup of white vinegar and half a cup of isopropyl alcohol with two cups of water, and pour over a roll of paper towels that’s been cut in half. Use too much and these products can cause a soapy residue to build up on your windows, causing streaks and dull, dingy glass. It’s important to keep window cleaning solution away from woodwork as it can damage the finish. Apply the cleaning solution directly to the tub walls, fixtures and shower areas, then scrub the areas with a damp rag or paper towel for effective results. You don’t need to buy a special spray bottle of glass cleaner, although the best is a nonabrasive window cleaning solution.
