Atlantis were not considered by NASA management at the time. When the plane goes over the top of the highest point, a crew member will yell “Martian gravity,” “Lunar gravity” or “zero gravity.” At that point you can move about the play area, experiencing a reduced-gravity environment. Since landing on the Red Planet in August 2012, Curiosity has explored the Gale Crater for nine years to see if Mars had the right conditions to support microbial life at some point in its history. Since the planet is so big, its barycenter with the sun resides outside of the star, at a point well above the solar surface.

The theory of the Earth being a stationary mass that other planets and stars revolve around is known as the geocentric model.
