Master (Your) Office in 5 Minutes A Day

The National Audit Office of the UK has produced a guide to help Government Departments and public bodies to assess the case for flexible managed space instead of conventional office space. Critics of the declassification process have long contended that it still results in the government keeping too many secrets. The only official guidance on that seems to come from a 2020 federal appeals court decision, in which the judges noted that “declassification, even by the President, must follow established procedures.” However, the normal practice seems to be that the president records the declassification decision in an official memorandum. In 2020, the most recent year for which figures are available, agencies completed automatic declassification review of approximately 40 million pages of records by Dec. 31. But they were unable to get to another 23.6 million pages that were scheduled for release. Another of the GMU panelists, John Fitzpatrick, the senior director for records access and information security management in the Obama administration, noted that declassification isn’t about just documents, but the pieces of information that are being declassified.

The sheer volume of classified documents that must be evaluated for possible declassification is a problem. Aftergood says he thinks the system would be improved by changing the rules and setting an automatic “drop dead date” on classification – say, 40 or 50 years – after which older documents automatically would become available to the public, without the need for formal reclassification or even review. Imposing mandatory expiration dates for secrecy actually was considered by the Clinton administration back in the mid-1990s, Aftergood says. And she’s expanding her role as Jessica Jones into a second season, as well as the upcoming Defenders cross over. Thirty-five year old Krysten Ritter has been around since 2001. But until she played Jessica Jones for the Marvel Studios produced Netflix series, she mostly starred as the friend or girlfriend on series such as Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls. Among the best known actors on this list prior to starring in a Netflix series, Ellie Kemper gained some fame from her supporting role as receptionist Erin Hannon on The Office, and also had a supporting turn in the box office hit movie Bridesmaids. One of Netflix’s most critically lauded series, Bloodline has been nominated for many awards since debuting in 2015. Mendelsohn himself has been nominated for multiple awards for his portrayal of troubled brother and black sheep Danny Rayburn. Always a hard working actor in his native Australia, Mendelsohn has graduated to A-list Hollywood movies since Bloodline’s success.

And Mendelsohn owes his work in a high profile Rogue One to Netflix, which hired him to star in the streaming service’s original program Bloodline, about a dysfunctional family living in the Florida Keys.
